Deli Counter Shift Leader General Purpose:
To provide an atmosphere that promotes excellent customer service through outstanding leadership and strong teambuilding skills. Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction in handling all inquiries, orders, special orders and returns.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
· Perform all Counter Clerk duties as well as additional supervisory duties listed below.
· Supervise duties of counter staff on a daily basis, keeping staff productive.
· Maintain clean and safe working environment according to Health Department regulations.
· Maintain clean and neat appearance in compliance with Dress Code policy.
· Monitor staff breaks in a timely and efficient manner.
· Assist Deli staff with customer service.
· Take special orders and follow through on them.
· Train new staff.
· Enforce store rules and policies.
· Assist other team members in achieving the goals of the department and the store.
· Adhere to all Deli and Store policies as outlined by the Deli Management and the employee handbook.
· Provide feedback to Counter Manager for performance evaluations.
· Assume ownership of Deli Counter operations in the absence of the Counter Manager, including supervising deli staff.
· Represent Jimbo's and store management. Qualifications:
· Previous Food Service experience.
· Excellent customer service, communication, delegation, and organizational skills.
· Able to constructively address performance issues.
· Demonstrated ability to coach and motivate others.
· Capable of handling several tasks at once.
· Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Complete Food Handler's Certificate within 30 days of employment
