Cook II
General Purpose:
To provide Jimbo's customers with quality food prepared in a clean environment. Ensure that all products used meet the standards and guidelines of the store. Assist Sous Chef and Kitchen Manager with special assignments.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
· Perform all Cook I duties as well as additional duties listed below.
· Maintain clean and sanitary work area.
· Comply with Health Department regulations.
· Practice proper food prep, handling, and rotation. Label food with date product is made.
· Check walk-in for proper storage and rotation of containers. Ensure all food items are properly covered.
· Assist chefs in coordinating the daily menu and follow production list.
· Check produce and place orders when necessary. Properly record all in-store purchases.
· Maintain cold entrée case. Change out pans, bowls when needed.
· Communicate with Sous Chef and Kitchen Manager on food products to be ordered before items run out.
· Preserve an open level of communication and a level of cooperation will all Deli counter staff. Provide counter assistance when necessary.
· Clean and organize area for next shift.
· Responsible for making and creating more sophisticated dishes (minimum of one new recipe per week) than the usual standard deli items.
· Attend scheduled department meetings and all store meetings.
· Assist other team members in achieving the goals of the department and the store.
· Adhere to all Deli Dept and Store policies as outlined by the Deli Managers and employee handbook.
· Maintain clean and neat appearance in compliance with Dress Code policy. Qualifications:
Able to understand Department of Health regulations.
Previous Food Service experience.
Friendly, outgoing personality.
Complete Food Handler's Certificate within 30 days of employment.
Intermediate cutlery skills.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds throughout any assigned shift.
